A Week of Highs and Lows

Last week started, for us, as a very happy one. Nige's Mum, Dad, sister and kids came down to visit. They spoilt me with some early birthday presents. It was a weekend filled with surfing, meals together, kids playing, cups of tea and coffee, lots of chatting and generally enjoying each other's company.

Tuesday was my birthday and I had a lovely day. We went to Mum and Dad's for morning tea where we were joined by my Auntie. Mum made a gorgeous birthday cake for me which was enjoyed by all. Mum, Josh and I then went to a plant nursery where I bought a half wine barrel with some birthday money. It is sitting near our back door and will soon have some veges and herbs in it. I will post some photos here when it is done. After this we went to an organic coffee shop for lunch and it was so nice. I had a lentil pie with salad and an organic juice. Yum! We then drove home and had a little relax. My gorgeous hubby cooked dinner. It was wonderful to have a day off and to be spoilt by my lovely family.

The next day wasn't so good. We received some sad and disappointing news. Many tears have been shed in this little home of ours over the past few days.

However it's now time for us to pick ourselves up and to move onward and upward. It is time for us to get back to that wonderful place of balance. To do so we will be extra kind to ourselves and each other. We will fill our bodies with good nourishing food, drink lots of filtered water, go on leisurely walks, have nice relaxing baths, light candles, use aromatherapy oils and spend some nice relaxing time together.

I hope this week is a better week. A week filled with peace, love and happiness. I wish this for you too.

My mother and father-in-law gave me this bag for my birthday. I love it. They know me well. I'm definitely a peace, love and happiness kind of girl.

How do you return to a sense of balance when life throws you a curve ball?

Thanks for reading,
love Julie xxoo

  3. Oh Julie, it sounds like our lives are very similiar at the moment.

I am making sure that I try to stay as balanced as possible by doing several familiar things at the same time every day to ground me. I am keeping my rhythmn very strong this way and it gives me great comfort.

Take care and happy belated birthday. I am so glad people spoiled you.

  4. So sorry to read about the lows last week, they can really take us off track, can't they? I do hope this week is better for all of you and that the joy and light of life finds you again.

I love how you will find your balance again, it is pretty much what I would do, nourish the mind, body and soul, so important.
