A Broken Wrist - More Rain - A New Book

Our 11 year old son has a broken wrist. He fell off his cousin's Power Wing Scooter on the weekend. Josh has great balance on his Rip Stick, but the Power Wing scooter moved a little differently and he wasn't use to it.

It is still raining. We are happy though as our dam is now full. We would just like a bit more rain so our water tank can fill. It must be close, but a bit more will fill it completely. Our dam water is used for our garden, other plants and for our pony.  The tank water is for our house use. We live a bit out of town and do not have town water. It is lovely being able to drink filtered rain water.

With Josh laying low I thought a new book would be a good idea. We have watched the Soul Surfer movie and loved it, so we thought we'd give the book a go. It is nice to have a true story written for children.

  1. Oh no, poor Josh! Please send him our love. Lew just wanted to make sure he was OK - he just said that then:) How long with the cast? At least the cooler weather is up ahead so it won't get so hot and sweaty. Hopefully we'll get to sign in before it comes off!

    1. Josh has his cast on for 3 weeks. He wasn't keen to get it as he won't be able to go surfing. I'm pleased it's raining.

  2. Ouch! Not fun.

We enjoyed Soul Surfer too - the movie, that is.

Hope you are ok, Julie. Isn't it stressful when a child gets hurts?

    1. Yes, it is stressful when your child gets hurt. We are all OK. It has probably been harder on my husband and me. We keep telling Josh how brave he is and he says "Why, it's not that bad." It has shaken me up a bit though. I am a bit of a worrier and a bit overprotective when it comes to our children. After all they can't be replaced can they?
